Welcome to Highland Heifers. These Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of our website and the purchase of cattle from us. By using our services or placing an order, you agree to comply with these Terms.
1. Who We Are
Highland Heifers (“we,” “our,” or “us”) is a USA-based breeder specializing in Highland calves and cattle. We offer livestock for sale through our website:
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years of age and legally capable of entering into a binding agreement to purchase livestock from us.
3. Cattle Listings and Availability
All cattle listed for sale are subject to availability and may be removed or marked as “sold” at any time.
Details provided in listings—such as age, sex, and breed purity—are accurate to the best of our knowledge at the time of listing.
We reserve the right to refuse a sale if we believe the buyer cannot provide a safe or suitable environment for the animal.
4. Deposits and Reservations
To reserve a calf or cow, a non-refundable deposit is required. The deposit amount will vary depending on the animal and will be clearly communicated at the time of reservation.
- A deposit holds the animal for an agreed period.
- The remaining balance must be paid in full before pickup or delivery.
- If the buyer cancels after placing a deposit, the deposit is forfeited.
- If we cancel for any reason on our end (e.g., health issue, unforeseen circumstance), your deposit will be fully refunded.
5. Payments and Pricing
All prices are listed in USD ($) and may include or exclude applicable taxes or delivery fees.
Accepted payment methods:
- Bank transfer (preferred)
- Cash (upon pickup)
- Secure payment app (e.g., Venmo, Zelle, or similar, if applicable)
Note: Final payment must clear before the animal is released.
6. Pickup and Delivery
You may:
- Pick up your animal from our farm by appointment.
- Arrange delivery through a trusted livestock hauler at your own cost.
We assist in organizing transportation but are not liable for third-party transport delays, injuries, or issues after the animal leaves our care.
All animals will be vet-checked and in good condition before departure.
7. Health Guarantee
We guarantee that all animals sold are healthy to the best of our knowledge at the time of sale.
Buyer agrees to:
- Have the animal examined by a licensed veterinarian within 72 hours of delivery or pickup.
- Notify us immediately if any major health issues are identified.
If a licensed vet provides written documentation of a life-threatening condition or congenital defect within 72 hours:
- We may offer a replacement (if available) or refund (at our discretion), provided the animal is returned in its original condition.
This guarantee does not cover:
- Minor or treatable conditions (worms, lice, etc.)
- Stress-related illness due to transport
- Injury or illness resulting from buyer’s handling or care
8. Ownership and Responsibility
Once full payment is received and the animal is picked up or delivered:
- Ownership and full legal responsibility transfer to the buyer.
- The buyer assumes all liability for the care, feeding, housing, and safety of the animal.
9. Refunds and Returns
Due to the nature of live animal sales, we do not offer refunds or returns after the 72-hour health guarantee period.
If you can no longer care for the animal, we ask that you contact us. While we do not guarantee a buy-back, we may assist with rehoming if possible.
